Amish with a Twist

Tula Pink introducing her rainbow colourway of Amish with a Twish v2.0.

I can’t resist Tula Pink! She beams into my Instagram feed with energy and rainbow gradients and I’m just hooked, lined, and sinkered.

Tula recently introduced her last quilt of 2025, her rainbow take on Amish with a Twist by Nancy Rink Designs.

I was on the lookout for a quilt to make for a 21st present and decided this was the one. It’s a straightup patchwork quilt that looks fabulous in both Nancy and Tula’s colourways. Rainbow Stash in Tauranga (New Zealand) is making up fabric bundles soon for the upcoming sew along so could it be any easier? I don’t want to join in a BOM (block of the month) which I suspect this quilt will end up being for many quilters, because the 21st is in June so I don’t have a whole year to get this stitched.

I’d also like to prove to myself — and to you, Gentle Stitcher — that I can actually make a quilt, start to finish, in a timely fashion. All the thinking has been done for me between Tula’s rendition, Rainbow Stash’s curated bundle, and Nancy’s pattern. I just need to follow in their footsteps and gift this on the birthday deadline.

Just.
